Pub Quiz, Tuesday 14 May

As part of our campaign to raise funds to buy two radio beam trackers that would give 24/7 coverage of Centurion Way, and to have some fun, we are organising a Pub Quiz at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 14 May in the Rainbow Inn, St Paul’s Road. All are welcome but numbers are limited to 60, so please pay the entrance fee of £5 per head to one of the Friends in advance if you would like to take part.

Centurion Way Video

One of our members, Mark Record, has produced a video, taken as he cycles from Newlands Lane to the City Centre. This illustrates three aspects of this important foot and cycle path. First it provides a fast and direct way of getting from Parklands and other places to the West of Chichester to the city centre. Secondly it is wide enough for cyclists to share with pedestrians without inconveniencing either, and thirdly, this beautiful green corridor provides an important wildlife habitat. Find the video on our Web site.

Friends of Centurion Way at the Weald & Downland Living Museum

The friends will be taking part in the ‘Good Life’ event at the Weald & Downland’s ‘Good Life’ open days on Sunday and Monday 5th/6th May. Have a cup of tea with us, brewed at Mark’s mini caravan, affectionately known as ‘The GlamPingPineapple’.

Junior Themed Cycle Ride, Saturday, 11th May

Adam Bell, our Sustrans member, will be leading a fun cycle ride for children on Saturday 11th May. He will be leaving from the Southern Bishop Luffa Entrance (by the “Tesco” Footbridge) at 11:00 am and cycle up to the Amphitheatre (Approx 2 miles). What better way to practise your biking on our safe, traffic free path. Spaces are limited, so book now. Click Here To Book Now!

During June, July and August, the Friends will be offering cream teas on the path on the second Saturday or Sunday of the month. The first of these will be on Sunday 9th June from 2.00 – 4.00pm. Whey not join us?
